Diane K. Hammon, MHA, is Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at Moffitt Cancer Center.
Ms. Hammon's background includes management of physician practices, home health services and academic medical center strategic planning. She received a bachelor's degree in public relations from Auburn University and a Master's in health administration from the University of North Florida.
In her current role, Ms. Hammon is responsible for Moffitt Cancer Center's strategy, business and market planning, brand strategy and marketing. She helps to lead the strategy and execution of key business teams which foster innovation, growth and brand development, management, and engagement throughout the cancer center.
Ms. Hammon has experienced cancer on both a professional and a personal level. Her father has been a patient at Moffitt Cancer Center for the past 8 years. Faced with multiple cancer diagnoses and a lengthy commute to his care team at Moffitt's main campus, he was able to maintain convenient access to high-quality care because of an innovative approach to a shared-care model. By utilizing telehealth and collaborating with a satellite location to provide labs, infusions, biopsies, and oral chemotherapy, a significant majority of his care has been performed either remotely or virtually over the past two years. Ms. Hammon hopes that her father's experience will inspire cancer centers to think differently and find innovative ways to reduce the logistical burden of cancer care and improve the overall patient experience.
