Anne Chiang MD, PhD

Anne Chiang, MD, PhD, is the Chief Integration Officer and Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Smilow Cancer Hospital. She also is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Section of Medical Oncology at Yale Cancer Center.

Dr. Chiang received her medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and her PhD from Harvard University. She completed her residency and internship at New York Presbyterian Hospital Columbia Medical Center and her fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Chiang has a background in translational research in metastasis, as well as extensive experience in clinical practice in both academic and community settings. She specializes in thoracic oncology and has a special interest in developing novel therapeutics for patients with non-small cell and small cell lung cancer, especially with immunotherapy.

Over the past decade, Dr. Chiang has helped to build the Smilow Cancer Hospital Network while overseeing operations, quality efforts, and clinical research in 15 of Smilow Care Center's community locations. Her current focus is on further developing the cancer service line in CT and TI. With a particular focus on quality measurement and improvement, she has led a number of ambulatory transformation efforts, including telemedicine, during the pandemic.

Dr. Chiang is a member of the NCCN Affiliate Forum and the NCCN Policy Advisory Group. She also serves on the NCCN Small Cell Lung Cancer Panel.
