Marianne Davies, DNP, MSN, ACNP-BC, AOCNP, is Assistant Professor of Nursing and Clinical Instructor at Yale University. She is the coordinator of the Oncology Nurse Practitioner Concentration. She also serves as an acute care nurse practitioner, advanced oncology certified nurse practitioner, and clinical nurse specialist in medical oncology at Yale Cancer Center/Smilow Cancer Hospital.

Dr. Davies began her nursing education at Russell Sage College in New York and continued her education in New Haven, receiving both her master's degree and post-master's certification at Yale University School of Nursing. Dr. Davies then earned a doctorate of nursing practice at the MGH Institute of Health Professions.

Dr. Davies' clinical practice is in Thoracic Medical Oncology. Her focus is on caring for patients receiving novel therapeutics including immunotherapy, targeted therapies and the management of associated toxicities. She has written and contributed to a number of scientific publications on a variety of topics, including immunotherapy and management of complications of cancer and cancer therapies, including: pleural effusion, pulmonary embolism, acute renal failure, nephrotoxicity and hepatotoxicity, and immune related adverse events. Some of Dr. Davies' published work focuses on career development for advanced practice nurses, specifically perceptions of roles, practice patterns, and professional growth opportunities, broadening the scope of advanced practice in oncology and transforming peer review for advanced practice nurses.

In addition to her published work, Dr. Davies serves as a sub-investigator for a number of clinical trials examining novel agents in the treatment of lung cancer, head and neck cancers, and melanoma. She has delivered presentations across the country and internationally on a variety of topics, including the management of side effects and toxicities related to immunotherapy and the integration of advanced practice nurses to enhance the patient care experience. Her speaking engagements have included appearances at the World Lung Cancer Conference, International Thoracic Oncology Nursing Forum, Society for Immunotherapy in Cancer, the Global Resource for Advancing Cancer Education (GRACE) lmmunotherapy Forum, ASCO-SITC Clinical Immuno-Oncology Symposium, Association of Community Cancer Care Centers-SITC Cancer Care Series and the Oncology Nursing Society. She also has presented at the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer's Annual Symposium on Personalized Therapies and Best Clinical Practices for Lung Cancer and Targeted Treatment of Lung Cancer Meeting.

Dr. Davies is a member of several professional organizations, including the Oncology Nursing Society, the Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology, the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, the Society for lmmunotherapy of Cancer, the Association of Community Care Centers Institute for Clinical lmmuno-Oncology, Sigma Theta Tau, the National Honor Society of Nursing, the International Thoracic Oncology Nursing Forum, and the Connecticut Nurse Practitioner Association.

Dr. Davies has received various awards and honors, including the Yale University Cogswell Award and the Ruth McCorkle Oncology Advanced Practice Provider: Yale Cancer Center and Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing. She also has been recognized by Yale University for Outstanding Student Leadership and Community Involvement and by her patients through the Yale-New Haven Medical Staff Patient Experience Recognition Program. She was recently inducted into as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN-2020).


Dr. Davies is a member of the NCCN Management of Immunotherapy-Related Toxicity Panel.
