Hamid Emamekhoo MD

Hamid Emamekhoo, MD, is the Medical Director of Clinical Cancer Research Informatics at University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Dr. Emamekhoo earned his medical degree from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. He completed his internal medicine residency at Good Samaritan Hospital and his hematology/oncology fellowship at Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Emamekhoo's clinical and research focus on genitourinary malignancies. His previous research in gene targeting has evolved into an interest in a personalized approach to cancer treatment and precision oncology. He focuses on immunotherapy innovations in cancer treatment and development of treatment response or progression biomarkers. He currently serves as the principal investigator, or co-investigator, on multiple ongoing clinical trials using immunotherapy and targeted therapies in different stages of kidney, bladder, and prostate cancer at UW-Madison.

In addition, Dr. Emamekhoo is a board-certified clinical informaticist. His work in clinical cancer informatics is focused on developing EHR-based tools and platforms to enhance structured data capture and integrate clinical research into routine clinical workflows to improve the quality of cancer care and make the newest treatments and clinical trials accessible for all patients with cancer.

Dr. Emamekhoo is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Medical Informatics Association. He serves as a member of the NCCN EHR Oncology Advisory Group and the NCCN Testicular Cancer Panel.
