First Descents (FD) provides life-changing outdoor adventures for young adults (ages 18 - 45) impacted by cancer and other serious health conditions. First Descents is a recognized leader in outdoor experiential programming. Through core programs, community adventures, and healthcare partnerships, FD improves the long-term survivorship of young adults impacted by serious health conditions.
Our goal is to get you on a program that works for you, as soon as possible. We do this through a variety of free, adaptive outdoor adventures that empower participants to climb, paddle, and surf beyond their diagnosis, reclaim their lives, and connect with others doing the same.
At the end of the day, our ultimate mission is that adventure and the supportive friends you make along the way will be an ongoing part of your journey.
“While the doctors and medicine may have saved my life, First Descents taught me how to live again.” - FD participant
