Susan T. Vadaparampil PhD, MPH

Susan T. Vadaparampil, PhD, MPH, is Associate Center Director of the Office of Community Outreach, Engagement & Equity at Moffitt Cancer Center. In her current role, Dr. Vadaparampil oversees the office’s day-to-day functions which work to uphold Moffitt’s commitment to maximize the impact of its research through engagement and equity in the Cancer Center’s catchment area and beyond.

Dr. Vadaparampil earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in health science education with a concentration in community health from the University of Florida. She received a doctorate degree in health behavior from Indiana University and a master’s of public health degree with a concentration in epidemiology from Johns Hopkins University. She completed her postdoctoral training at the National Cancer Institute.

Dr. Vadaparampil’s research uses a combination of behavioral sciences, epidemiology, health services, and clinical perspectives to improve the dissemination and uptake of new cancer prevention and control innovations into clinical practice and the community. Her work is influenced by transdisciplinary collaboration, focused on health disparities, and contributes to both the scientific literature and clinical practice. Her current research focuses on genetic testing and counseling for inherited cancer susceptibility, breast and cervical cancer prevention/early detection, and reproductive health among adolescent and young adult cancer patients. She has been funded since 2006 through research grants from organizations such as the National Institutes of Health and the American Cancer Society.

Dr. Vadaparampil has published more than 250 scientific manuscripts. She serves as the Co-Program Director for Moffitt’s Behavioral Oncology Post-Doctoral Training Program.
