Smitha S. Krishnamurthi, MD, is Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University and a member of the Developmental Therapeutics Program at Case Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Dr. Krishnamurthi earned her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed a residency in internal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She subsequently completed a fellowship in medical oncology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
With more than 20 years of clinical and research experience as a gastrointestinal oncologist, Dr. Krishnamurthi specializes in treating patients with colorectal cancers. She has served as the Principal Investigator (PI) or co-PI for multiple clinical trials focusing on metastatic colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, and advanced biliary cancers.
Dr. Krishnamurthi serves on the Southwest Oncology Group GI Committee. She has been recognized by Castle Connolly's “America's Top Doctors” and “Exceptional Women in Medicine” for many years.
Dr. Krishnamurthi is a member of the NCCN Colon/Rectal/Anal Cancers Panel.
