Sanam Loghavi MD

Sanam Loghavi, MD, is Associate Professor in the Department of Hematopathology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC).
Dr. Loghavi earned her medical degree from Islamic Azad University in Tehran. She completed a clinical residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Cedars-Sanai Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident in the Department of Pathology/Laboratory Medicine. She completed clinical fellowships in surgical pathology, hematopathology and molecular pathology at MDACC, during which time she served as Chief Fellow in the Departments of Pathology and Hematopathology. Dr. Loghavi is board-certified in molecular genetic pathology, hematopathology, and anatomic and clinical pathology.
Dr. Loghavi's research interests include the molecular classification of myeloid neoplasms, measurable residual disease detection, and clonal hematopoiesis. Dr. Loghavi has over 200 peer-reviewed publications and is the Editor-in-Chief of the American Society of Hematology's Image Bank and the Medical Director of the ECOG-ACRIN Leukemia Bank.
