Rachel Jankowitz MD

Rachel C. Jankowitz, MD, is Director of the Rena Rowan Breast Center at the Penn Medicine Abramson Cancer Center, where she also holds a faculty appointment as Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Jankowitz earned her medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine. She subsequently completed a residency and a fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She is board-certified in medical oncology.

Dr. Jankowitz specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. In addition to her clinical practice, her research focus has included invasive lobular breast cancer, endocrine resistance in hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, and breast cancer clinical trials. She has served as a Primary Investigator (PI) or co-PI for many breast cancer clinical trials. She is particularly interested in biomarker development and treatment response in invasive lobular breast cancer.

Dr. Jankowitz holds memberships with a number of national and international professional societies, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance, and the Translational Breast Cancer Research Consortium. Her research has been published in a number of prominent scientific journals, including Annals of Surgical Oncology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Journal of Oncology Practice, and Breast Cancer Research and Treatment.

Dr. Jankowitz is a member of the NCCN Breast Cancer Panel.
