Michael E. Seabright, PharmD, BCOP, is Regional Oncology Pharmacist in Outpatient Services at Cleveland Clinic Foundation. In this role, he rotates through regional outpatient infusion centers, educates patients on chemotherapy regimens, and provides clinical pharmacy services for physicians and nurses.
Dr. Seabright received his bachelor of science degree in molecular biology and biotechnology from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and his doctorate of pharmacy from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy. He is certified by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties as a Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist.
In his current role, Dr. Seabright supports process development for managing patients on oral chemotherapy, coordinating patient education with nurse care coordinators for infused and oral therapies, and managing and maintaining close to 2 dozen white bag patients, both oncology and off-service. His role continues to evolve and expand to include ensuring USP 797/800-compliant clean rooms, implementing gravimetric infusion preparation systems, and providing pharmacy updates for nurses and other providers regarding new medication agents and processes, as well as electronic medical record updates.
Dr. Seabright is a member of the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA) and joined HOPA’s Core Competency Task Force to help develop training certificates for oncology pharmacists who are not yet certified in oncology. He also is a member of the Association of Community Cancer Centers and the American Society of Health System Pharmacists.
