Lynne Brophy, MSN, PMGT-BC, APRN-CNS, AOCN, is the Breast Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist for Ohio State University’s James Cancer Hospital and the Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center.
Ms. Brophy received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Duke University. She received her Master of Science in Adult and Geriatric Health Nursing from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is board-certified in Advanced Oncology and Pain Management Nursing.
Ms. Brophy has been a registered nurse for 37 years, and clinical nurse specialist for 29 years. She has presented on a local, regional, and national level. She has published 30 papers in the areas of breast cancer, immunotherapy, surgical oncology nursing, exercise for cancer survivors and cancer symptom management. She has completed 7 grant-funded research and evidence-based practice projects. Recently, Ms. Brophy was the second James Cancer Hospital awarded a $70,000 Pelotonia grant for her research project to detect lymphedema called Project Limb Rescue. She is a faculty member for The OSU Fuld Evidence-Based Practice Immersions and serves as the evidence-based practice mentor for The James Cancer Hospital’s Innovation and Research Council. She is co-leader for her institution’s Nurse Sensitive Indicator project to examine extravasations. She also serves as a member of the OSUWMC clinical practice guidelines committee. She is an active member of Oncology Nursing Society, American Society of Pain Management Nursing, The Hospice and Palliative Care Nurses’ Association, and Sigma Theta Tau.
