Jessica Vanderlan, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine, where she also serves as the Manager of the Siteman Psychology Service.
Dr. Vanderlan received her doctorate of philosophy in clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology Los Angeles. She subsequently completed her internship at UCLA and her postdoctoral fellowship at Siteman.
In her current role, Dr. Vanderlan and her staff of fellow licensed clinical psychologists and psychology doctoral student therapists offer free, evidenced-based care to patients and their families. Their work focuses on caring for the whole person, including psychological and emotional functioning, and supporting patients and caregivers through all phases of cancer.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Vanderlan researches how best to meet the psychological needs of patients with cancer. Her interests include distress screening, psychological functioning in gynecologic oncology, clinical outcomes of patients who utilize counseling services, program development, and integrated psychological care.
Dr. Vanderlan is a board member of the American Psychosocial Oncology Society and the Vice-Chair of the NCCN Distress Management Panel.
