Jacob D. Soumerai, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and a Clinical Investigator in Lymphoma in the Department of Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Soumerai has extensive experience in caring for patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), and B-cell lymphomas. The objective of Dr. Soumerai's research is to develop and lead clinical trials testing novel combinations of biologically directed therapies in B-cell lymphomas and CLL. These trials are enriched by clinically relevant correlative science, designed to identify novel therapeutic targets and evaluate mechanisms of treatment resistance with an eye toward future therapeutic trials.
Dr. Soumerai received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, and his fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Soumerai is board-certified in medical oncology and hematology.
