Dr. Erica Fortune earned her PhD in Cognitive and Experimental Psychology from the University of Georgia in 2013 and is currently a Director of Research at the Cancer Support Community (CSC). In this role, she supports various aspects of psychosocial research with cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers, including conceptualization of research ideas and study content, participant engagement and recruitment, formal psychometric scale development, data handling, cleaning, and analysis, and dissemination of findings. Her current research focuses on patients' experiences and perceptions related to their medical care, including biomarker testing; distress screening for whole-person care; and the impact of COVID-19 on the cancer community.
