Andrew H. Ko, MD is Professor of Clinical Medicine and Associate Chief in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). He also is a member of the Molecular Oncology Program at the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center

Dr. Ko earned his medical degree at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. After a residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, he completed a fellowship in medical oncology at Stanford University.

Dr. Ko specializes in colorectal and gastrointestinal (GI) cancers, with a particular focus on pancreatic cancer and upper-GI malignancies. His research interests include the development of new treatment strategies, including molecularly targeted therapies and immunotherapies. Dr. Ko has helped develop and lead clinical trials supported by industry collaborators, the National Cancer Institute/CTEP, and various consortia and foundations. These trials seek to identify individual patient and tumor characteristics that influence prognosis and response to specific therapies, including both tissue- and blood-based biomarkers.

At a national level, Dr. Ko the Chair of the NCI's Pancreatic Cancer Task Force serves on the National Cooperative Group’s Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology. He also has served on the scientific program committee, grants committee, and specialty editorial board for the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). Additionally, Dr. Koh serves on the editorial boards for multiple peer-reviewed oncology journals and is the Associate Editor for GI Cancers for the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

Dr. Koh is a member of the NCCN Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma Panel and has served on committees for the NCCN Oncology Research Program.
