Amye J. Tevaarwerk, MD, is a medical oncologist specializing in breast cancer and Associate Professor at Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Tevaarwerk earned her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and a fellowship in medical oncology at the University of Wisconsin from 2006-2008. She then spent 14 years as faculty at the University of Wisconsin before moving to the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Dr. Tevaarwerk is a leader in cancer survivorship care and an expert in oncology clinical informatics. Her current research interests include leveraging the electronic health record (EHR) and other health care information technology tools to facilitate communication and care coordination between cancer specialists, primary care providers, and cancer survivors.
Prior to joining Mayo, Dr. Tevaarwerk founded and served as the Director of the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center Survivorship Program. She is an Epic-certified Physician Builder and is board-certified in clinical informatics, with roles on the Epic Oncology Steering Board and the NCCN EHR Oncology Advisory Group. She also serves in a variety of clinical informatics roles at Mayo Clinic.
